“Ok so I waited till Monday (yesterday June 6) to test my vert on the designated practice jumps day. I did my dynamic warmup (which I love doin btw gets everything loose and gets all my muscles firing properly) and I went to the gym after. I just started jumping off one leg and just glided to the rim effortlessly. So I did it again. Same result. I stood underneath the rim no steps jumped straight up and hammered down the hardest one hander off vert that i was ever able to do (my wrist was at least 4-5 in above the rim) I feel so much power in my lower body now it’s ridiculous. This week is my rest week and I’m about to start the peaking/final phase next week. I don’t know why but people are starting to notice my new found athleticism on the court especially after I jumped over guys 6 inches taller than me for a rebound(5’8). Also finally deadlift more than my squat. Deadlift Max went from 205 to 275 and Squat went from 225 to 255. Before the program, I had very weak hips and butt and was quad dominant. Now I’m balanced. With this program I was training way smarter with the way I lift(going perfect form light then building up throughout the sets). The past program I did, VertFreak, improved my vert but I didn’t feel like it gave me much athleticism(got abs from it but w/e). With this program, my speed, quickness, strength, and explosion really took off. Some of the exercises may seem weird at first such as the 1 leg deadlift/close grip hang snatch/overhead squat****** but I feel like it really strengthened my muscles that were really weak and inflexible. I’m testing my vert this Friday to see how much I gained and if it’s good I’ll send you the video. I took a gamble with your program. I remembered when I first encountered your website and read most of the info and watched your videos. I knew there was something different about you compared to other vert experts. Well it payed off! I’m about 3-5 weeks away from the 3 week rest so I’m sure it will be even crazier then. Hard, smart work payed off!”

“Ever since I was young I wanted to be a great athlete. Doesnʼt matter if I was playing pick-up basketball with friends or contending for the state football championship; if I was competing I was competing to win. In high school, I always felt I possessed strong athletic ability relative to my peers, but never did much training to enhance that ability. I competed solely using my God given athletic ability and saw success in my sports of football and track. When I got to college, I thought this same mentality would deliver similar results. To say the least, that first day of collegiate football practice was a rude awakening. Everyone was simply bigger, faster and stronger than me. After camp, I decided to “red shirt” for my freshman season. So for that whole year I lifted with the team and saw some strength and mass gains, but nothing overly special. In spring, I competed in a track meet hosted by my school and ran a 57 second 400m hurdle. An average time, but it was enough to pull me toward track. The coach was impressed and wanted me to follow the track team lifts for the upcoming summer. I followed the program all summer, but was slightly surprised to see some of our lifts. We were doing 50-60% body squats right during the middle of summer. Now I did not know much about lifting, but I did know summer was time to make significant strength gains for the upcoming year. I simply could not see myself improving considerably with these lifts. Sure enough when the same track meet occurred the next year; I ran the race in 56 seconds, only 1 second faster! I trained hard for a whole year only to increase my personal best by one measly second. After that race I knew something had to change.
That summer I started training with Daniel; after seeing significant gains within the first 4 weeks, I decided to commit to training with him for the upcoming year. It has been just over a year now since I have switched. I saw more success this past year than I have in my whole life. My strength, power, explosiveness, and speed have increased drastically. However, I am sure you want to hear real life examples, so I will tell you about my past track season.
I set personal bests in everything I did! During indoor season I competed in the heptathlon, outdoor season I ran the 400m hurdles. A heptathlon consists of: 60m dash, 60m hurdles, long jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, and 1000m run. My 60m dash dropped from 7.70 to 7.20 seconds; 60m hurdles 9.23 to 8.60; long-jump increased by 2ft, high-jump I went from 5ft to 6ft; pole vault went from 12ft to 13ft; and shot put I went from about 28ft to 37ft. On my very first heptathlon ever, I nearly qualified for nationals. If you think my indoor season was eventful, just wait till I tell you about outdoor! You know that meet where I initially ran the 400m hurdles in 57 seconds, then 56 the next year; well this year I ran it in 53.15! I PRʼd by over 3 whole seconds, and qualified for the national meet. I ended my season top 20 in the nation, where the year before I was not even top 100! This past year speaks for itself, this training works.
Many people think they need to enhance their sport specific abilities to see significant gains. For example, sprinters put tons of work into perfecting their block starts, which may be the single most important part of their race. However, you can have a perfect block start, but you will always lose to someone who has a perfect start AND is stronger/more explosive than you. When you already have great technique, the next step is to improve your overall athleticism. Be a stronger, faster, more explosive athlete on top of having great technique. That was what Daniel’s training did for me; I became an overall better athlete and naturally it carried over into my sport. Leave your sport specific training to your practices, and use the weight room to build strength. I have two more years of eligibility left and cannot wait to see what kind of athlete I am then. “I wanted to drop in and congratulate you again on what masterful and impeccably helpful material you’ve created with Jump-Science. I must admit that through your training regimen I was able to make more progress than I could appreciate at first, and because I got carried away I developed a serious case of Jumper’s Knee.
From all of the things I read (Web MD, sports medicine websites, etc) it was “stage 4; requires 6 month’s physical therapy or surgery to correct” (I could not support any weight at all on a bent knee without excruciating pain!) I turned instead to your article on Jumper’s Knee. Simply pointing my toes outward to correct knee valgus allowed me to start with sled drags, and I could navigate down stairs backwards. These 2 exercises alone were all I needed to get my foot in the door in terms of beginning recovery, and in one week flat I am happy to report that I can not only do squats again, but I can stair bound and even jump with no pain whatsoever. PS in December I filmed a new video showcasing my newly acquired athleticism, and a friend of mine put it together and published it for me with the Jump-Science url (unfortunately he did not edit it with a long enough pause.) In regards to the footage, it was the first time I’ve ever been able to put all of my most difficult tricks together within the same session at all, let alone with such ease; each clip (including the last few which are by far the most difficult) was done in a single take. Tom is a friend of mine who decided to give jump training a try for a short time before he graduated from college and moved out of town. He’s a pretty good natural athlete and was able to earn some great results in a short time.

Chris is a friend of mine and a fellow sports training and fitness expert. He had a 28-inch vertical when he began training with me. He reached 38 inches after about a year of training with a few breaks and eventually reached 40 inches.

Al was a basketball player at my university. He trained with me for less than two months during the summer before his senior season. He made some pretty big strength gains and added about three inches to his vert in his first three weeks of training.
